On Saturday 9th June several members of our district ventured into Wales for a day of ringing at seven very Welsh sounding towers.
We arrived at our first tower of the day, Llanelly, a nice 6, where we rang several lots of call changes amongst a few others things. This helped to settle the nerves of some of our number who were on there first ringing outing.
After ringing at 3 towers we were almost ready for lunch, just one more tower before we were off to the pub. Our only tower not to start with Llan.... Cwmdu.
Llangattock was the second tower. This time we had 8 bells and a little challenging to ring due to the slightly stretchy ropes.
The third tower took us
back to six bells at Llanbedr
After lunch the sun had come out and we headed up to Llanfeugan a lovely 8 and the first and only tower we needed to go up stairs. To finish our afternoon we went along to two very different 4 bell towers Llanfihagel Tal-y-llyn and Llangasty Tal-y-llyn for something a little out of the ordinary in the picturesque setting of Llangorse Lake. An enjoyable day was had by all!
